Annie’s favorite thing about being part of the Bend/Central Oregon community is that we try. We’re definitely not perfect, and too many are left behind, but man, do we try. And I always want to try.
Q&A with Annie

Oh my gosh, FINALLY! Yes, please, yes!
-
To be honest, I sort of strong-armed Megan to let me do this, but I played it cool, of course.

My job is the love of my life - but don't tell my husband, he thinks it's him. It's everything that this life should be: challenging, fun, different, stressful and exciting!

My talents are a bit unusual and may not be appropriate to list here - ha!. I play tennis and golf and enjoy shopping, but those are really just things I like to do. What I’m passionate about is bringing community and collaboration into my professional world. Watching people come together for the good of the whole is what truly excites me, which is why I’m so excited to participate in Catwalk for a Cause. I believe everyone succeeds when a community rallies around each member.
Helping people find their voice and their place in the world is the most meaningful “hobby” I’ve ever had. Everyone deserves to be cheered for - and I am a really good cheerleader.

There are so many amazing people who have filled me with hope. But really, hope can be found everywhere and within almost everyone.
I've seen hope from people on their 14th time in rehab - but this time, it's going to work. I've seen hope from the people society most ignores through a funny statement or laugh. I’ve seen hope in my clients, who carefully curate and create these safe haven homes for themselves and the hope of new adventures. I’ve even seen hope in my dog - every time I pass the leash drawer.
Hope is there, if you look for it, and I don't want to say this "one person in my life", when it's been everyone I have ever known. -
Hope looks like a clean shirt, a made bed, and even the dimmest of sparkle in someone's eyes. It's the kid that tries to make friends at a new school It's the woman who has never supported herself, saying she's got this. It's the man who has been left behind but still chats it up with the person serving his coffee and the people he meets walking his dog.
Hope is getting up in the morning when you have every reason not to. Hope is one foot in front of the other. Hope is a kindness, a smile, a "hurrah for you!", or any other act that we do for other people. Hope is feeling like everything is hard, but maybe it won't be forever. Hope is a whisper, a nudge, and something so slight that you might miss it if you aren't looking.
