A Home for New Beginnings

The Juniper House is a sober living transitional home designed to support women who have successfully completed alcohol and drug treatment and are ready to step into the next phase of recovery.

The Vision Behind The Juniper House

The vision for The Juniper House belongs to Cathie Coe Sipe, Founder and Executive Director of New Each Morning, an all-volunteer nonprofit launched in January 2020. The organization exists to connect post-recovery women with community resource partners and help them thrive as healthy, productive members of the community.

New Each Morning walks alongside women in vulnerable seasons, offering connection, hope and a renewed sense of belonging. The foundation of their work is simple but powerful: there are new mercies every morning. Every day offers everyone a new start.

Beyond the peer support that has always been central to the organization’s mission, Cathie’s vision was to be able to provide a safe, stable home where women could continue their courageous recovery journey while learning to live in community again.

That vision is now The Juniper House.

Building a Safe and Supportive Home

Named for the protection, shelter and rejuvenation symbolized by juniper trees, the house will initially serve five women, offering year-long transitional housing and community living. The long-term goal is to expand the model to serve more women in the future. Their philosophy is rooted in a simple truth: without community, there is isolation, and isolation isn’t good for anyone.

This house represents so much more than four walls. It represents a foundation…a place to come, breathe and feel safe...a place where they can learn to live in a new identity and walk away from the stigmatism of addiction. These women are carrying so much shame and lack of worthiness, and this will be a place where they learn they are so worthy

A Leap of Faith and A Community Effort

In late December 2025, New Each Morning took what Cathie calls a “leap of faith” and purchased the 2.23-acre property where The Juniper House stands. With assistance for the down payment and a contract to complete the $1.2 million purchase within three years, the organization is now working diligently to meet that goal even sooner.

Mid-Oregon Credit Union has generously granted $75,000 to cover first-year operating expenses, including mortgage, insurance and taxes. Additionally, a $50,000 matching opportunity has been secured to help raise funds toward ongoing mortgage payments and essential costs.

Furnish Hope’s Part of the Story

Having referred clients to Furnish Hope over the years, New Each Morning was already familiar with our mission. When it came time to prepare the 2,300-square-foot home to welcome its first residents, it was a natural partnership. We were honored to step in - transforming empty rooms into welcoming spaces ready to hold healing, growth and new beginnings.

On the day everything was moved in, it was very humbling to have people come around you and take on the vision you’ve carried for so long - and to have them do it with such joy and hope. It was incredible.
— Cathie Coe Sipe, Founder & Executive Director, New Each Morning

The Juniper House stands as a powerful reminder that recovery flourishes in community, and that sometimes, a furnished home can be the foundation for an entirely new life.
