The Magic of Christmas in Warm Springs
Over the past year, our Central Oregon community has quietly donated Christmas décor filled with memories and meaning from their own homes. Last Friday, those treasures found new life at our second annual Christmas Giveaway, benefiting the Warm Springs community.
With the help of 30 amazing Furnish Hope volunteers, the Warm Springs K8 Academy media center was transformed into a magical winter wonderland. Nearly 750 parents and children enjoyed treats and warm drinks, selecting décor to bring holiday magic into their homes. Teachers chose special items for their classrooms, and families visited with Santa, taking photos that were printed and placed in donated frames. Everyone left with armfuls of decorations and hearts full of joy.
750 Smiles, One Community - Countless Hearts Touched
Lonnie Anderson, Principal of the Warm Springs K8 Academy, captured the spirit of the day in remarks shared with our volunteer community:
“What the Furnish Hope community has given us is so much more than lights, wreaths and holiday décor. They’ve given us hope. Hope is a gift offered from one heart to another, freely and generously, often just when it’s needed most.
This year, Furnish Hope brought love, care and creativity into our school, and everyone felt that gift deeply. You didn’t just decorate a building - you transformed Warm Springs K-8 Academy by the power of hope. What you’ve done has touched hearts beyond what you can see.”
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated cherished Christmas decorations throughout the year - and to TC Energy and the Tennant Family for making this event possible with storage, stockings, photographs and treats. The entire day was truly a beautiful reflection of our community's generosity.
