Furnish Hope Has a New Home
It's been seven amazing years of serving our community. What began in our Executive Director’s living room has grown into the opportunity to serve 668 households in 2025! And the need isn't slowing down. In 2026, we expect to serve around 700 households with essential home furnishings.
To meet that demand, we have strategically grown our operations, our staff and our space. But growth has also made something clear: we need a space that better serves our guests, supports our volunteers and allows our programs to reach their full potential.
In January of 2026, with the support of a handful of generous supporters, we were able to purchase our new home at 355 NE 2nd Street.
This 100-year-old building marks a transformative new chapter. Thoughtfully restored, it will become a vibrant hub for hope, dignity and community - expanding how we serve individuals and families transitioning out of hardship. It will provide the foundation to create an experience rooted in compassion, connection and the belief that every person is worthy of a place to call home.
Designed for Dignity
At the heart of this vision is a more personal, welcoming guest experience. Guests will be invited to choose the furnishings and essentials that reflect their needs and preferences.
This is about more than providing items; it’s about restoring choice, honoring each person’s story and creating a foundation for stability. Every detail is intentional, including a children’s comfort corner where kids can feel at ease while parents focus on creating a home.
This new space is also designed for connection. It will bring people together - guests, volunteers and community - in meaningful ways. Here, individuals will not be defined by their circumstances, but welcomed as they are. It will be a place where compassion is visible and care is demonstrated through action.

Built for Impact
By bringing key operations under one roof, Furnish Hope will be able to serve more households, reduce wait times and better manage donations.
But beyond function, this building is a powerful symbol of transformation. A century-old structure restored with purpose - mirroring the journeys of the individuals we serve as they move from instability to stability, from uncertainty to hope.
Through this project, Furnish Hope is preserving a piece of local history while building something even more meaningful: a future where every neighbor is met with dignity, every story is honored and every home begins with hope.
Hope Taking Shape
With the support of dedicated community partners, renovations began almost immediately after purchase. In April, more than 300 supporters gathered at the new property for our CHAIRitable event, filling the space with energy and excitement. Work continues - take a look at the progress and see how hope is taking shape.
